Anti-fascist rallies held in Athens after rapper’s death

Sep 25, –  An anti-fascist demonstration and concert were held in Syntagma Square on Wednesday afternoon, while a rally was set for the evening in the same square. The man held in the death of anti-fascist singer Pavlos Fyssas says the stabbing was self-defense and identified himself as linked to Golden Dawn, which has 18 seats in Parliament.

The party denies any role in the killing. As part of an investigation into the party’s activities, Greece’s Supreme Court has been hearing testimony from witnesses and victims of alleged violent attacks, as well as journalists who have published interviews with alleged current or former Golden Dawn members.
