Fire rips through Dubai high-rise complex near world’s tallest tower
Terrifying moment as fire ripped through a downtown Dubai skyscraper, towering black cloud of poisonous smoke could be seen.
The sky scrapper building with plumes reaching more than one hundred feet and rising above the mammoth skyscrapers.
Huge flames appear to be flickering from the lowest floors of the building and sirens can be heard ringing in the background along with the loud bangs of propane gas cylinders blowing up.
The Dubai government media office reported the fire broke out at the Address Residences Fountain Views towers, with firefighters since bringing the blaze under control.
Dubai Sulafa Tower was on blaze last year the tower was evacuated after a massive fire broke out in the building, causing smoking debris to rain down from the skyscraper.
Experts say a flammable cladding that covers the skyscrapers could be the cause of the fires.
The site, which is under construction, became a towering inferno yesterday with the wall of dark smoke clearly visible across the United Arab Emirate’s city skyline.
The shopping mall is just away from the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa and the 63-storey Address Downtown Dubai tower which was badly damaged in a fire on New Year’s Eve 2015. Emaar Properties, who built The Address Downtown Dubai hotel, have been building the complex.
