No relief for Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy
Investigation seemed to be never-ending, he continues to remain in jail in the name of incomplete investigation
After falling out with Congress, Y S Jagan launched the YSR Congress party which took Andhra Pradesh by storm. However, with the political escalation came a host of corruption cases against him and his associates, which finally landed him in Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda prison. Emerging facts and human rights report suggests Jagan is being politically victimized.
YS Jagan’s Late Father, YS Rajashekara Reddy was an amazing leader. He spearheaded various schemes to provide housing,
food and health security and an honourable old age. He provided free electricity and water for irrigation through
the Indira Prabha scheme. As many as eight million people have benefited from his schemes, and 2.8 million farmers got free power supply. People loved him,” the unique health scheme launched by YSR, Rajiv Arogyasri, which helped
1.1 million people avail of the best treatment offered in the state’s best private hospitals.
Ever since YS Rajashekhara Reddy died in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2009, differences have multiplied
between Jagan, and Congress. When politics stepped in, so did the CBI. The agency did not investigate any case
when YS Rajashekara Reddy was in power.
Jagan’s opponents thought his imprisonment would be the end of his newly-launched party. However, it appeared
that his opponents read this wrong and the manner in which his mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila took over
the party gave the opposition plenty to worry about.
However, Jagan’s prolonged imprisonment and denial of bail to him by the courts at all levels have only
strengthened his position, a conspiracy to wipe out Jagan from political arena proving to be a difficult task.
The last two and half years have seen a jostling for power with Y S Jagan, ultimately resigning from the
Congress to start his own outfit – YSR Congress. His party has gone from strength to strength, helped by the
confusion in the central leadership of the Congress about how to deal with him – the opinion swinging
alternately between “let’s appease him” and “let’s punish him”. With wheels of fortune spinning quickly in
Andhra Pradesh, the party bosses have launched a full-fledged assault on Y S Jagan. Whether political
opponents succeed in their plot the answer is no public opinion has been completely changed in jagan’s favour.
The family of YS Jagan, had been undergoing a turbulent period since the untimely death
of his father three years ago. The family had become a victim of conspiracy hatched by rivals who have gone to
any length to crush his rising political career. YS Jagan, has been fighting against all odds, thanks to the
overwhelming support from people who had loved YSR family.
Protesting the unlawful arrest of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy his followers and fans launched a program called
‘Janam Santakam’.
The idea of this program is to make the followers and fans of YS Jagan, to sign a petition on illegal arrest, as a
part the campaign 20 million people already signed and there are plans to send all these signatures to the
president of India.
Also a letter on ‘Jagan Santakam’ was released by the followers, Alleging that YS Jagan is a victim of a conspiracy by his rivals, also we have observed that many illegal forces are acting against YS Jagan and his family, we have seen the
unlawful arrest of YS Jagan for which we are protesting. It’s been more then 7 and half months that he has been kept behind the bars but still CBI is not ending its conspiracy against YS Jagan.
YS Vijayamma, a widow and mother of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also to submit a petition and the 20 million signatures collected through (people append signatures for Jagan’s release) campaign spread over a fortnight across all regions
of Andhra Pradesh state in India.
YS Vijayamma, said that Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing a case of blatant violation of human rights by CBI,
where in the name of investigation, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested and placed in custody for the last seven
and half months.
Around 20 million people have voluntarily signed protesting his continued illegal detention by the CBI and we
request your intervention for rendering speedy justice.
She said that the money invested in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy owned companies had not come into his hands but
had gone into the projects and it is still there along with his investment. The companies so established have
contributed to the economy in their capacity. They had provided direct and indirect employment to
over 30,000 families.
